Minimal art can be defined as art that with a personal expression is refined in order to give the simplicity a presence on its own. Or at least that is one way we would paint the words.
Arjan Janssen is one of our minimal artist friends who we have long been admiring the work of. There is something so pure yet mysterious about his art pieces.
Each piece feels as if they tell a separate story but somehow they are still all connected to each other making it into a very interesting series of minimal art.
Supporting his art is something we have done for about 5 years or so – and after many creative talks with Arjan we can say that we have become even more curious about his way of creating art.
There is such a simplistic approach that he is using – yet it feels intriguing and leaves us always wanting more. In simple words his art has a simple painted language that is intriguing and geometrical, leaving the minimalism person in awe of his creative work.
It goes without saying that I make abstract art. My lines are tight and the surfaces are rectangle. But in the tone I hope values are found that is not merely to be found in this area of art. – Arjan Janssen to Design Studio 210
