My first book cover: ‘Swedish Architecture’.
When designing the cover I tried to stay away from traditional book covers with horizontal text elements. By placing it vertical I know for a fact that I am elongating the book page. Thanks to the books dimension I think this works out fine.
‘Swedish Architecture’ had to be a balance between new versus old. To do this I incorporated cold elements together with a Serif font and a picture that projects an old train station with its rounded ceiling.
Normally I always wait a day or so before I showcase anything, but maybe it is a good idea to trust your first instinct…you know the voice that is telling you, it’s good. I have come to realize how hard it is for me to show what I have done. Maybe I am scared of failure? Actually remove the ‘maybe’, I Am…
