I am at the moment re-searching editorials. Very plain ones; with a feminine touch, typical set ups to be found in any mainstream magazine.

At times I am dreaming away that my ‘studio’, ‘study space’ could be as neat as this one. I am too ashamed to show my desk at the moment. I actually don’t even have space to sit by it. Instead I filled my kitchen table with my laptops, color pens and sketch papers. I share apartment with two very patient people, who ignores all the crap; just hoping that one day that I will be finished with my studies.
My hubby did point out something interesting months ago when he asked ,how come I am so messy while ‘creating’ but at the same time my designs are very clean and sharp. I am a perfectionist in my imaginary world and a ‘mess’ in the real one. This makes me laugh so badly….I know it’s me, but it’s a bit embarrassing to admit. I guess design brings out the bad in me.
Living and working in Barcelona is a dream of mine. There is something special with the pulse, food and way of living that gives me energy and motivates me.

Well those dreams are simply dreams for now. What I can do is indulge and enjoy these images below of a home from Barcelona. Wow, the tiles and ceiling do it for me….when can I move in?

A crib, perfectly constructed in my eyes, by Piet Boom.
I think it’s adorable and it reminds me of a toddler who has to keep his legs oddly separately to stay balanced.
My graphic assignment for this week involves typography. I have been trying to challenge myself, but I am not sure how it will work out though.
I started this week by visiting the library for some good graphic sources, but realized quickly that those books did not satisfy my inspiration. Instead I returned to my interior design books and suddenly my head was spinning with ideas for my graphic design course.

These images above reminds me of typography. A combination and contrast between simple colors and chunks of letters.
My first book cover: ‘Swedish Architecture’.
When designing the cover I tried to stay away from traditional book covers with horizontal text elements. By placing it vertical I know for a fact that I am elongating the book page. Thanks to the books dimension I think this works out fine.
‘Swedish Architecture’ had to be a balance between new versus old. To do this I incorporated cold elements together with a Serif font and a picture that projects an old train station with its rounded ceiling.
Normally I always wait a day or so before I showcase anything, but maybe it is a good idea to trust your first instinct…you know the voice that is telling you, it’s good. I have come to realize how hard it is for me to show what I have done. Maybe I am scared of failure? Actually remove the ‘maybe’, I Am…

This week I am working in a second hand shop. Yesterday I spent the whole day sorting the shop and my radar was on for wood frames.
Tara over at INK+WIT ‘accepted’ my ‘Lovely Blog Award’ and gave me one back in return. Thank you.
